Diva has made some real progress in our last few sessions. She is now maintaining the canter to the right and even stretching her head down for a few strides. However the left lead is still giving her some problems but I am hopeful that these problems will be resolved soon. We had a great ride yesterday and today, although Diva would probably disagree. We have been playing with the follow the rail pattern. Along with that comes the game of not taking off Brianna's Knee. To keep my knees from being rubbed off on the rail, doors, or walls we are playing with our indirect rein while trotting. Diva is starting to understand this concept and is actually starting to follow the rail very nicely.
I rediscovered today Diva's love for the pedestal. While we were trotting around doing our indirect rein Diva would get very tired and would go over to the pedestal, climb on it, and rest there for a few minutes. It is so very comforting to know she has that one place that she can go to completely relax.
